Georgian Identity Through the Lens of Fashion Photography

While Georgia’s national identity is still in the process of shedding  the remnants of repressive Soviet control, the “new” is partly represented by an adaptation to the rest of the world as perceived by Georgians themselves, and partly by the idea of freedom that the West symbolized during the years where creativity was controlled and regulated by the state. These changing notions of Georgian identity are mirrored and explored within both fashion and particularly fashion photography.
